The Leftovers started as the players nobody drafted. That's still the whole idea — and it's why there's an open slot on the roster page right now.

We were the leftovers

A handful of people who played rec ball at the same field kept running into the same problem: the local teams were full, the tryout dates never worked, and the answer was always “maybe next season.”

So we entered an event ourselves with whoever was free that Saturday. We realised the barrier had never been skill. It was a roster spot.

That’s the name. We’re the players who were left over, and we’d rather hand the next person a slot than make them wait a season for one.

How the roster actually works

There is no tryout, no dues, and no bench. Before each event we post the date in the Discord and the Facebook page, and slots go to whoever confirms first and pays their own entry. Some people play one event a year. Some have played every event since the beginning. Both count.

That churn is the point, not a problem to be solved. It means:

  • Anyone can get in. Show up, cover your entry and paint, play the whole day.
  • Nobody sits. If you confirmed, you’re playing points.
  • New players get real reps. Not a practice squad — actual tournament games.

What we’re not

We’re not a pro team, we’re not sponsored into six figures, and we’re not going to pretend the record is better than it is — results go on the stats page as they happen.

What we are is a team that exists so that people who want to play tournament paintball can, without waiting to be picked.

Common Questions

Before you ask
Who can actually join the roster?
Anyone who can make the date, cover their own entry fee and paint, and isn't a problem to be around. We're a rotating free-agent roster by design — most of the team started as someone who filled an open slot for one Saturday.
Do I need tournament experience?
No. About half the current roster had never played a registered event before their first one with us. If you've played rec ball and you listen in the huddle, you'll be fine — we're a community team, not a pro one.
What does it cost to play an event with you?
Entry is typically $60–$110 per player depending on the event and format, plus paint and air on the day. We don't take a cut and we don't charge dues — everyone pays their own way.
What gear do I need?
Your own marker, mask, pods and a harness. If you're short a piece, ask in the Discord — somebody on the roster has a spare almost every time.
Do I have to buy a jersey?
Not to play. Jerseys run as batched pre-orders a couple of times a season on Bonfire, so if you miss a window you just wait for the next one and play in black in the meantime.
How do I get on the list for the next event?
Join the Discord and post in the event channel, or email the captain. Slots go in the order people confirm, and confirming means you're actually showing up.
